#InvGate #Renews #SOC #Type #Certification

We’re pleased to announce that InvGate has recently renewed the SOC 2 Type II certification. This achievement shows our commitment to the industry’s best data protection and compliance practices.

The SOC 2 standard was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). It consists of a third-party audit that evaluates how companies worldwide handle data privacy.

Keep reading to learn how the renewal impacts you.

What is the SOC 2 Type II certification?

SOC stands for Service and Organization Controls and is a set of standards that assesses how well a service organization manages its clients’ data based on five “trust service principles”: security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

It has two different types:

  • Type I focuses on policies and procedures operating at a specific moment and certifies whether the vendor’s system design meets relevant trust principles.
  • Type II focuses on policies and procedures active during a specific period and avails the operational effectiveness of those systems.

The Type II protocol is a more rigorous designation since organizations are evaluated for at least six months. InvGate first obtained this certification in 2022, and its renewal reinforces the compromise with our clients’ data security.

What does the certification mean for InvGate and our clients?

A SOC 2 report assures that organizations (such as InvGate) ensure:

  • They have the required data security controls to protect customer data against unauthorized access.
  • They can detect anomalies and security incidents across their entire ecosystem.
  • Besides preventing risk situations, they are well prepared to quickly repair damage and restore functionality in case of a data breach or system failure.

“Renewing our SOC 2 Type II certification is essential to the ongoing improvements on InvGate’s security landscape and a commitment to our customers to always be ahead of the curve regarding their assets’ security.”

    Manuel Fernandez
    Chief Security Officer at InvGate

Therefore, it reinforces that vendors adhere to high security and confidentiality standards for clients and potential customers.
